Support Sessions
Room to Just Be
Say what feels heavy out loud.
Explore what support looks like for you.
WHAT SUPPORT SESSIONS ARE
You can start with what’s happening.
Sometimes you don’t need advice. You need somewhere to say what’s going on without having to clean it up first.
Support Languages™ Support Sessions are private one-on-one conversations for Black women who want to better understand what they need, put words to the kind of support that would actually help, and begin figuring out how to make more room for that support in everyday life.
You might come in knowing exactly what’s bothering you but not knowing what to do with it. You might know you need more support but have a hard time explaining what that means. Or you may simply know that what you’re getting right now doesn’t feel like what you need.
We start there. We talk through what’s happening, pay attention to the support need underneath it, and explore what that could look like in your relationships, routines, work, decisions, boundaries, or other parts of your life.
WHAT A SESSION CAN LOOK LIKE
You don’t have to know what you need before we start.
Support Sessions are rooted in the Support Languages™ framework, which gives us a way to pay attention to what kind of support may be missing, what may feel most important to you right now, and what support could actually look like in your life. You don’t need to know your Support Language before you book.
Some days you may need to vent. Other days you may be trying to make sense of a conversation, a relationship, a decision, something happening at work, or why the support you’re getting still doesn’t feel like what you need.
You can bring whatever is happening. I’ll listen, ask questions when they’re useful, and help you pay attention to what may be underneath what you’re saying.
From there, we can talk about what support could look like in real life. That might mean finding words for a conversation you need to have, recognizing a boundary, identifying something practical that would help, noticing where support already exists, or figuring out what needs to change for you to experience more of it.
You don’t have to leave with a full plan. Sometimes the first step is simply being able to name what you need in a way you couldn’t before.
Support Sessions are private one-on-one conversations. They are not therapy or traditional coaching.

“I came into the session knowing I needed something, but I couldn’t really explain what it was. As we talked, I realized how much I needed quiet after work and time to read without anyone needing anything from me. Reading wasn’t just something I enjoyed. It was one of the few ways I had to have some time to myself.
By the end of the session, I had words for what support actually looked like for me and a way to explain it to my husband that felt honest and specific. I wasn’t just saying, ‘I need more help.’ I could actually tell him what I needed and why it mattered.
That was the biggest thing for me. I left feeling like I could finally have the conversation instead of just hoping he would somehow know what I needed.”

Questions About Support Sessions?
What is a Support Session?
A Support Session is a private one-on-one conversation where you can talk through what’s happening, better understand what you need, and explore what support could actually look like in your life.
You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what’s wrong or what would help. We can start with what you’re experiencing, pay attention to the support need underneath it, and work toward putting words to what you need and how that support might show up in your relationships, routines, work, decisions, boundaries, or other parts of your everyday life.
Is a Support Session therapy or counseling?
No. Support Sessions are not therapy, counseling, crisis care, or mental health treatment.
They are private, non-clinical conversations focused on helping you talk through what’s happening, recognize what kind of support you may need, and put language to what that support could look like in your life.
If what you’re dealing with needs clinical care, a Support Session is not a substitute for working with a licensed mental health professional.
What can I bring to a Support Session?
Whatever is happening.
You might bring a relationship or family situation, something at work, a decision you’re trying to make, a conversation that’s still bothering you, or simply the feeling that something is off and you need somewhere to talk it through.
You do not have to organize it first, explain it perfectly, or know what kind of support you need before we start. We can begin with what’s on your mind and work from there.
What if I don’t know what kind of support I need?
That’s okay. You do not have to know before you book.
Sometimes you know something feels off, you’re tired of handling something the same way, or the support you’re getting still doesn’t feel like what you need, but you don’t have words for why.
We can start there. As we talk, we’ll pay attention to what keeps coming up, what feels most important, and what kind of support may be underneath what you’re experiencing. From there, we can begin putting language to what you need and exploring what that support could look like in your everyday life.
What’s the difference between a 30-minute and 60-minute Support Session?
A 30-minute session works well when you have something specific you want to talk through, need help naming what you need, or want a shorter check-in around one situation.
A 60-minute session gives us more room when what you’re dealing with feels layered, there are several pieces connected to it, or you want more time to explore what support could look like beyond the immediate issue.
You do not have to choose perfectly. Pick the amount of time that feels most useful for what you want to bring into the conversation.
Do I need to take the Support Languages™ Assessment before I book?
No. You can book a Support Session whether or not you’ve taken the Support Languages™ Assessment.
If you already know your Support Language, we can use that as part of the conversation. If you don’t, that’s completely fine too. The session can still help you talk through what’s happening, recognize what you may need, and begin putting language to the kind of support that would actually help.
