If children spend the majority of their childhood/teen years conforming to the needs, desires, and expectations of their parents, and are constantly seeking approval and acceptance, they’ll eventually start believing that the only way they’ll receive love and nurturing is when they’re [unconsciously] taking on the role of people pleaser.
